Mommy Goggles 'Year Round' Gift Guide!

Learning fun with Alphie & Alphie Databots

My son is 6 1/2 and my daughter is 4. Both love to learn and have fun while they are learning. We had the chance to check out a new and improved Alphie. I remember playing with Alphie when I was a kid, so I was excited for my kids to check it out.

ALPHIE DATABOTS Assortment
(PLAYSKOOL/Ages 3 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $15.99)

These portable DATABOTS friends are full of personality and provide lots of learning fun! The MAESTRO- BOT pal is a musical playmate with a keyboard in his tummy who teaches preschoolers about melodies, colors, shapes, patterns, and sequencing. Kids will love to play along to Mary Had a Little Lamb, Three Blind Mice and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on their musical pal’s keyboard. The DECI-BOT buddy enjoys numbers and is full of engaging games to introduce children to amounts and the principles of greater and less than. Tots can count along as his fingers light up and sing along to his special numbers song. Requires three “AAA” batteries, included. Each sold separately.

Kambry LOVES Alphie Databots! She has Deci-Bot. She has fun giving him high fives and counting down to the questions that he asks. He is pretty basic and great for just about any age of child. Even our 6 1/2 year old enjoys playing with him. As his fingers light up, the child counts down. He will even do addition and subtraction while the fingers light up & count down with you. Very cute to add as a stocking stuffer or a gift. My only complaint as a parent is that while there is a volume (high/low) it is still very loud.

ALPHIE

Alphieweb

This learning pal boasts an LCD screen to depict facial expressions, a childlike friendly voice and a playful, inquisitive personality making ALPHIE robot not just an educational toy, but a beloved companion. Along with an animated personality that children will adore, this ALPHIE pal features important educational activities that help develop early childhood learning skills in toddlers. With their playful ALPHIE learning pal leading the way, preschoolers can begin to learn the alphabet, rhyming, counting, color and shape recognition, matching, animal names, instrument sounds and much more! ALPHIE bot has a convenient carrying handle and comes with thirty double-sided cards containing over 350 fun questions and challenges. Requires three “AA” batteries, included.

With Tucker being in Kindergarten, Alphie is a great learning toy that helps him with his ABC’s, colors, story telling, matching and more. Alphie comes with cards that are kept on his back and when you insert one card on to his front section, he will read the code that is within the card and asks the child questions regarding the card. He might ask what item on the card matches with the letter or what color the item is. We’ve had Alphie in our home for a couple of months now and I have seen Tucker’s learning and even his reading skills improve. He reads along with what is on the card and matches it to what Alphie asks him. Highly recommended!
